  • I so enjoyed this book! It is very open and real. I cried and I smiled. I love the simplicity of it. It says thing that we often forget to say to ourselves and to others quite frankly. This book is one you can read over and over!

  • I read all kinds of poetry, though generally stick to established poets, or those who have a "buzz" about their work. Kimberly Benedetti does not have either of those attributes, but it's early in her writing career. These short poems — they could also be called affirmations — were so uplifting, though, I'm glad I happened on her book, "Love Poems to Myself." Poetry is tough to write. I know because I've tried but the ideas she conveys here are simple and often forgotten. Kudos to her for forging a path we seem to forget sometimes, that we all need affirming.
